Our degreed, nurturing teachers utilize your school's curriculum to help your child succeed based on how they learn. In addition, we provide organizational skills and study skills, as well as get the children involved in community service projects. We've now helped over 5000 children succeed and we can help yours too! The Tutor Shop provides help with homework support, test prep, help with outstanding class work and projects, Standardized test support, organizational skills, remedial or enrichment help and more. The Tutor Shop is an academic-based after-school enrichment program created over 13 years ago by a veteran teacher and mom. Thank you for your interest, prayers, and support of LiFT Bakersfield's Homework Club.ONE OF THE TUTOR SHOP'S MAIN GOAL IS TO HELP STUDENTS WITH INCOMPLETE LEARNING. Packaged Snacks (fruit snacks, granola bars, etc.) If you are interested in being a "Christmas Shopper" please contact Janet Cater during the month of November.īelow are some of our most needed donation items: Christmas Shopper: During Christmas we purchase one new clothing item per child. Two trips are for good attendance and good behavior and one is for completing the summer reading program.Ĥ. Reward Trips: We also host three reward trips each year. We plan several field trips each Summer.ģ. Field Trips: Many of our students never have a chance to get out of their neighborhood.

Additionally, the students will receive new backpacks and school supplies.Ģ. Back to School: Each August we take out students shopping to purchase new school shoes. We also have raised garden beds behind our building, so if you like to garden, please feel free to contact Janet Cater at you would like to make a monetary donation specifically to Homework Club please note "Homework Club" or the specific event listed below in the comment section when submitting your donation. Each summer we need "Summer Readers," adults who are willing to come for half and hour on Tuesdays to read with a student. Our greatest need is for volunteers who are willing to serve one or two afternoons each week. LiFT Homework Club serves the children in the Roberts Lane area by providing a safe, Christ-centered, environment where they can receive academic help, Bible teaching, and mentoring.
